GPS Devices & Cameras
Bicycle computers and navigation devices enable them - in conjunction with numerous sensors - to receive, process, display and evaluate data while riding. The simplest way to make current information about speeds and distances traveled visible on the display is via a spoke magnet and a coil attached to the fork. This is connected to the bike computer either by cable or wirelessly. As soon as the magnet passes the coil, voltage is induced and a signal is triggered, which is sent to the computer. The electronic data is counted, processed and finally shown on the display.
Some bike computers and all navigation devices already have a GPS sensor integrated. Without having to install an extra sensor unit on the bike, speeds and route data can be determined via this.
