Like all Santa Cruz bikes, the Heckler is easy and fun to pedal, regardless of personal performance ability. The LowerLink VPP rear triangle is optimized to provide slightly less anti-squat compared to a Bronson. That adds a bit more support and better traction in rough terrain when pedaling while seated - giving you a big advantage when you have a Shimano motor on your side.
And like any Santa Cruz bike, the Heckler is built for the rigors of real mountain biking. Shimano drivetrain technology was chosen for its maturity and reliability, while in the quality of the bearings and the simple and clever internal cable routing, the classic qualities of Santa Cruz bikes are preserved.
