What is a WaterRower?

This high-quality indoor rowing machine was invented by American rower John Duke. Depending on the model, it is made of fine wood or stainless steel and offers you such an authentic feeling of rowing as probably no other device can offer. When training with this device, you are rowing against real water resistance: You use your strength to move an oar in a tank full of water. You can control the level of resistance simply by using your strength. The simple but ingenious technology in a noble design makes this rowing machine a real favorite in terms of price-performance ratio.

This simple but ingenious technology is probably also the reason why this device is finding its way into more and more basements and fitness studios. Because the dynamics of the power development is through the authentic water resistance as close to real rowing on open water as no other rowing machine. With an ergonomically shaped water paddle that rotates in the machine's patented water tank, this unique rowing machine allows maximum water absorption. Therefore, the resistance does not need to be adjusted. You simply use your own strength to determine how hard you fight against the water resistance and the inertia of the mass.

What WaterRower models are available?

The popular rowing machine with real water comes in many models. The WaterRower oak, WaterRower ash, shadow or walnut models, as well as the model made of the wood of cherry, are special training devices that will enhance any living room thanks to their noble design. But also the versions made of plain stainless steel (with S4 performance monitor) or aluminum instead of wood impress with their appealing design. Depending on the specification, individual models are also equipped with special accessories. Unlike the WaterRower A1, the WaterRower M1 and WaterRower S4, for example, come with the S4 power monitor. The S4 monitor is designed specifically for performance training on the rower. It displays training parameters such as distance, watts, stroke rate, total distance, heart rate (optionally usable with Polar receiver). You can also connect the S4 Monitor to a PC to use it with the free We-Row software.

What app can I use with the WaterRower?

You can, of course, use the rower to increase your fitness with your favorite fitness app if you want to record vital signs like heart rate and calories burned during your workout. However, My-NOHrD web apps are especially popular, allowing you to work out interactively with the water rower. You can create your own workouts from hundreds of exercises or book a trainer to put together your workouts for you. Especially for this purpose, the rower comes with a PC connection cable. So you can follow on the monitor how your workout is going.

What WaterRower accessories are available?

In addition to a mount for your laptop and the WaterRower smartphone and tablet mount to accompany your workout with an app or web app such as We-Row. To more accurately track your heart rate during your workout, you can also purchase the Heart Rate Technology Set. Other accessories like softer rowing handles or an ergonomic seat cushion for the sled sitting on a mono-rail make your workout more comfortable.
