MTB Hardtail for purists
The MTB hardtail is the most original form of mountain bike and is characterized by its suspension fork and unsprung rear end. At the latest since the advent of the "Twentyniner" in recent years, the MTB with hardtail and a typical suspension travel of 100-140 mm is on the rise again. The bikes impress with their low weight, which gives them a particularly direct feel on undulating trails and makes them light-footed climbers even on steep climbs. Thanks to their high directional stability and powerful disc brakes, hardtails also offer advantages on fast descents, even on soft ground. This makes the hardtail an ideal mountain bike for all those who are looking for an affordable all-rounder that also performs well on the road.
Downhill action with the MTB Fully
The range of Full Suspension mountain bikes, or MTB Fully for short, is even more extensive. In addition to their suspension fork, Fullys also have a suspended rear triangle, which efficiently absorbs bumps and shocks in the terrain, which significantly improves traction and thus comfort. While so-called All Mountains (AM) have a suspension travel of 120-150 mm and thus offer a moderate setup that is suitable for marathons as well as for trail tours in the mountains, Enduros (ED) are characterized by excellent suspension qualities. This makes an enduro bike with 160 mm travel ideal for trails, jumps and high-speed descents. Downhill action is even more comfortable on a freeride MTB bike with a suspension travel of 180 mm or more.
