Further information about the manufacturer

The brand, which remains independent, now enjoys genuine cult status among connoisseurs of the scene. Specialising exclusively in mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes, the Spanish mountain bike manufacturer continues to successfully go its own way with frames in the typical Forward Geometry. The developers tease the maximum performance out of every part of the bike. The brand proves that there is room for improvement even in parts such as the stem or saddle. The most popular materials for modern bikes are currently aluminium and, of course, carbon. Lightweight, torsion-resistant aluminium or carbon frames ensure easy handling and maximum directional stability. In addition to Forward Geometry, the Zero Suspension System is currently one of the latest technical innovations.

What tyres does Mondraker use?

Mondraker swears by Maxxis when it comes to ex-works tyres: depending on the model, your bike comes with Maxxis Ikon, Maxxis Rekon, Maxxis Aggressor or Maxxis Grifter.

What kind of bikes does Mondraker build?

The manufacturer divides its bikes into the categories Downhill, Superenduro, Enduro bikes or All Mountain, Trail, Cross Country, Urban Cross and Kids. Each category is served with several models in different equipment variants. These include the classic mountain bike, such as the Foxy, the e-bike or e-MTB as a hardtail, such as the E-Prime, or the comfortable e-fully, such as the currently popular Mondraker CRAFTY R or the popular e-Crusher model series. Flame Red and Light Blue are the manufacturer's typical colours. These are also the colours worn by team riders from the company's own camp. Flame Red stands for burning passion, Light Blue for the sky.

What is the Zero Suspension System?

Zero is Mondraker's self-developed, highly efficient and powerful suspension system. To achieve the highest possible drive efficiency and maximum suspension performance, Zero is customised for each Mondraker model. This means that there is an individually perfected Forward Geometry for every model, from the small Factor 24 or F-Play 24 to the World Cup & World Championship winners Summum Carbon and Summum Aluminium. Zero is based on the Dual Link design and thus belongs to the category of virtual suspension systems. The unique and exclusive feature of Zero is that the damper floats between two suspension arms and is compressed at both ends. This makes the rear suspension extremely sensitive to the smallest bumps and still offers top performance at all times, even on harder impacts.

How do you pronounce Mondraker?

The name is often pronounced "Moondraker", as if the English word for moon were the first syllable of the brand name. However, the emphasis is on the "a" and therefore on the second syllable. In Spanish, this sounds similar to the pronunciation of the German word Faktor.

What does Mondraker mean in German?

In an interview in 2018, Falk Alvarez, an employee at Mondraker Bikes, explained that the name of the brand from Spain is derived from a classic comic and not - as is often assumed - from an early James Bond film.

What frame size do I need?

For optimum performance, everything simply has to fit. You can find out for yourself in just a few steps what size a frame, whether made of steel, aluminium or carbon, needs to be to fit your body size. The manufacturer of your new bike also plays a role. Simply follow the instructions in our bike advisor and find out in which size you should buy the model of your choice. Of course, the saddle and stem can be adjusted to suit your physique.

Which is better: an aluminium or carbon frame?

If you have a rather limited budget, you can't go wrong with an aluminium frame. An aluminium bike with high-quality equipment definitely makes more sense than a carbon bike with compromises on components such as gears, headset, saddle, various bearings, etc. However, if you are prepared to spend a little more and attach great importance to the riding characteristics of your new bike, you should definitely consider the high-tech material. The so-called flex, which takes the rough vibrations out of the handlebars on rocky trails or uneven roads or increases the traction of your bike in bumpy corners, is just one example of the properties of a carbon frame that provide a completely different riding experience. This effect is particularly noticeable on an e-bike or e-MTB, with which you usually reach higher speeds.

What are the Mondraker team colours?

The team riders can be recognised by the colours Light Blue and Flame Red. Flame Red is intended to symbolise the burning passion for cycling, while blue marks the sky, which mountain bikers with bikes from the manufacturer are quickly approaching.
