Santa Cruz Bikes - Fresh Design from California

Do you love mountain biking and are you looking for a new racing plane that will plane over hill and dale with you? You have no desire to fall back on traditional brands, but attach importance to the unusual? Then the bikes from Santa Cruz are exactly what you are looking for. Browse our bike range now and get yourself a genuine Californian dirt bike at home today.

Who is behind the fun sports brand?

In the concert of big bike brands like Giant, BMC or Focus, the name Santa Cruz Bikes sounds rather exotic and unknown. This may be true in Europe - but in the USA, the brand has been well-known among sports fans since the 1990s at the latest. Founded in 1989, the company based in Santa Cruz, California, about 100 km north of San Francisco, made a name for itself by producing skateboards, snowboards and surfboards.
In 1993, however, founders Rob Roskopp, Rich Novak and Mike Marquez expanded their range to include the production of high-quality mountain bikes. With the vision of a simple and advanced frame and suspension, the company entered the bicycle market. Mike Marquez played a leading role in the development.
The first bike, called "Tazmon", finally saw the light of day in 1994 and caused a stir with innovative solutions such as a three-inch suspension travel. Since the turn of the millennium, the company has belonged to the Dutch Pon Holdings Group along with numerous other bicycle brands.

What makes Santa Cruz bikes so special

The core competence of the Californians still lies in suspension technology, which spreads maximum fun both in the dirt park and on trails and scree slopes. The VPP suspension already created in the 90s by James Klassen and Jamie Calon belongs today firmly to the mountain bikes from the house of Santa Cruz.

Responsible for the unique spring characteristics of the Virtual Pivot Point suspension is a base of two links, which rotate in their dynamics in two different directions. In addition, there is the flexibly configurable design, where all tastes come at their expense. The enormous focus on technology means that drivetrains, dampers and other system components are constantly being optimized.

But that's not all, because while other manufacturers have long since developed their bikes in the Far East, Santa Cruz still relies on design and develepment "Made in California". At the same time, the U.S. manufacturer relies on durability as the central marketing message for its bikes. Especially with carbon parts such as wheels, puncture resistance and stability are paramount, without skimping on the necessary flexibility for off-road use.

Dynamic design and the highest quality from Fully to E-MTBs

The range of the Californians leaves almost nothing to be desired for anyone looking for premium bikes. The range of mountain bikes is particularly large. Starting with sleek hardtails with maximum propulsion like the Santa Cruz Highball 3 C Dark Matter Carbon XT to racy fullys like the Santa Cruz Tallboy 4 C Flatte Earth XT to top bikes like the Santa Cruz V10 7.0 CC 29 Oxblood DH S, no wishes remain unfulfilled.

If, on the other hand, you want to ride sporty with a built-in tailwind, browse the brand's E-MTB range, which plays in the top league with high-end models like the Santa Cruz Bullit 3 CC Copr S 2022. Meanwhile, Santa Cruz is no longer exclusively at home on the road. Bikers who want to ride not only on easy terrain and forest trails, but also on asphalt, benefit from dynamic cross bikes like the Santa Cruz Stigmata 3 CC Gloss Brut/Grey Rival. Which Santa Cruz bikes are the most popular?

Santa Cruz Megatower - The Megatower is the fusion of big wheels and the most powerful suspension system. It's a modern brawler that's just as suitable for die-hard racers as it is for riders looking to conquer their local trails.

Santa Cruz Hightower - From the start, the Hightower was a trail bike that could do it all. The Hightower is more maneuverable than its longer-travel sibling, the Megatower, and is more comfortable on steep and chunky terrain than its bite-sized cousin, the Tallboy. The Hightower excels when the route covers "all points in between" and the descents involve some tough-as-nails climbs. The VPP suspension, with its bottom-hinged shock, creates near-linear leverage, which means it tucks away bumps of all sizes and maintains the kind of progressiveness normally reserved for our V10 DH bike!

Santa Cruz Tallboy - The Santa Cruz Tallboy takes another leap into what short travel bikes are truly capable of. With ingenious lower-link VPP suspension, a sleek design, typical Santa Cruz refinement, and some pretty radical geometry, the Tallboy is once again a folk hero that blows up the genre.Sure, 10mm more travel seems like a small step, but combined with the lower-link VPP suspension, it's a big leap for the Tallboy.
