Seatposts
The seatpost must permanently bear the weight of the driver and should still be light. In most cases, a continuous aluminum or carbon tube is used, which leads at the head into a clamp for all common saddle models.
In addition to rigid supports, there are also spring-loaded models for additional comfort as well as lowerable seatposts, the majority of which allow the saddle height to be adjusted from the handlebars to enable mountain bikers in particular to make quick adjustments off-road. Important when choosing the seatpost is the diameter that fits exactly to the frame to allow smooth mounting and avoid slipping.
