NEXT CHAPTER. LEAVE THE VALLEY BEHIND. The name ALTO has been part of our road bike range since 2018. ALTO is a variation on the Italian/Spanish phrase meaning ‘aim high’ and is intended to reflect its use as a mountain bike in its naming. Alongside our third appearance in the Tour de France, we also unveiled the third new edition of the REVELATOR ALTO. During development, we drew on feedback from our professional riders and incorporated insights gained from the world’s toughest cycling races. Furthermore, the new ALTO frame underwent the most rigorous testing phase in KTM’s history. Even the pre-production prototypes were sent into the ‘Hell of the North’ and underwent their baptism of fire on the cobbles of Paris–Roubaix. At the same time, the perfect aerodynamics were fine-tuned in the wind tunnel. The final figures confirm both the ALTO’s ideal climbing characteristics and its low aerodynamic drag in black and white. Right from the start, French climber Pierre Rolland rode the new ALTO frame to the mountains classification jersey at the Tour de la Dauphiné. The journey of the first production frames took them from Mattighofen, via Copenhagen, to the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The frames used by the Tour de France professionals are now available in various models, ready for you to put them to the test.
