Founded in 1973, the Schwalbe brand set standards in the bicycle tyre market for the first time. In 1983, the legendary Schwalbe Marathon tyre was launched, which, with its unprecedented mileage, thrilled passionate cyclists, bicycle dealers and trade journalists.

The world of bicycle types has become increasingly differentiated in recent years. New types such as mountain bikes, gravel bikes and, last but not least, e-bikes have created completely new market segments and placed previously unknown demands on bicycle tyres. Against this background, Schwalbe deliberately focused on the development of innovative bicycle tyres and inner tubes.

After Schwalbe presented off-road tyres for the first time in the mid-1990s, the brand quickly became the "best brand" among mountain bikers. Today, millions of MTB riders around the world swear by Schwalbe MTB tyres.
